Javon is a Family Empowerment Specialist with extensive experience supporting individuals in recovery, reentry, and those facing mental health challenges. In addition to his work as a Family Empowerment Specialist, Javon also provides therapy at a private practice. He holds both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Social Work, with a specialization in mental health and substance use.

Javon has prior experience as a therapist at a center for adult men experiencing substance use disorders, often alongside conditions such as depression, anxiety, and psychotic disorders. He utilizes approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), psychoeducation, Motivational Interviewing (MI), and person-centered techniques to foster growth and understanding. Through his work, his clients have developed healthier coping strategies, identified unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors, and explored the challenges and complexities of addiction and recovery. That experience continues to shape his therapeutic approach today.
